NutriScience has proudly achieved BETA NOPS accreditation, further demonstrating the strict quality management procedures that every NutriScience product undergoes for safety and risk reduction in competition.
What is BETA NOPS?
The British Equestrian Trade Association NOPS is a standalone code that was established in 2009 to address the risk of naturally occurring prohibited substances in equine feed and supplements. The code is an industry standard to demonstrate that a company has fulfilled every obligation to reduce the risk of product contamination with naturally occurring prohibited substances. NutriScience underwent extensive process fulfilment and independent audit in order to obtain BETA NOPS certification. This included pre-qualifying Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), detailed traceability and testing and risk management. External ingredient suppliers were tested and audited to ensure complete compliance to the BETA NOPS scheme.
Why is it Important?
The BETA NOPS Code is an internationally renowned accreditation that is recognised across all equestrian disciplines. It is endorsed by the British Racing Authority in the horse racing sector for example. For sport horses, the scheme fulfils requirements for FEI discipline Competition Rules.
Further Accreditation for Facility
This certification is the latest accreditation for the Waterford manufacturing facility, having secured GMP+ Feed Assurance Certification as well as ISO 9001:2015 Standard Accreditation. The GMP+ Feed Assurance is a certificate for Good Manufacturing Practise, which entails a system for ensuring consistence and control in product manufacturing according to quality standards. The GMP+ is a standard to ensure feed safety and certifies that every NutriScience product is of the highest quality. The ISO 9001:2015 Standard is based on various quality management principles including strong customer focus, process approach and continual improvement throughout the business.
