Spring is in the air, and foaling season is here again. The arrival of a new foal can be an exciting time. What will it look like? What shall we call it? What kind of personality will it have? The eleven-month equine pregnancy gives us plenty of time to prepare for the birth, eleven months that will pass very quickly, and it’s never too early to get cracking! So what can we expect?
Swedencare AB (publ) (“Swedencare”) has acquired the Irish animal healthcare company Ecuphar Ltd, known under the brand name NutriScience (“NutriScience”), a subsidiary of Ecuphar N.V. (“Ecuphar”).
It’s taken us all summer but we finally caught up with Shane Moloney. Shane is a hard man to keep up with, he never seems to be off a pony, either warming up or competing. A super cool competitor under pressure, no competition is ever a foregone conclusion until he has jumped! A quality he exhibited recently winning a very competitve 1.10M Nutriscience/Mackey Summer Tour Final in Ballyrafter, with a third place also just for good measure.
This week’s featured rider is Hazel Harte from the rebel county. It’s hard to believe what this young lady has achieved in a short time, through hard work and dedication. Hazel is one of those unique riders who possess the enviable ability to quietly convert totally ‘green’ ponies into winners at national level in a short time. A quietly-spoken individual who prefers to do her talking in the ring!!!
It wouldn’t be right if, in the month of September we didn’t feature a Kilkenny sports personality, so this week’s pony rider is Aoife Drea from Kilkenny. For anyone out there who thought hurling was the main sport in Kilkenny, this Kilkenny kitten is a tiger in the showjumping arena, and of course, she plays camogie as well…..
Our pony rider this week is Jane Roche – from County Waterford (Waterford seems to be a hot spot for talented pony riders!). At only 11, Jane is already well on her way in the pony world and knows what it’s like to be in a winning line up! Not happy enough to compete on dry land, Jane’s ponies also regularly swim in the sea – check out the sea horse in the top left hand picture……
This weeks Pony rider is Samantha Foley who hails from Co. Waterford. This lady is definitely a competitor combining athletics, hockey and gaelic football with her pony tour of Ireland! Where do you get the time Samantha? Great jump off advice also. Competitors be aware…
